Digital sensors, due to their sensitivity to the incident angle of light striking them, tend to exaggerate off-axis Chromatic Aberration to some degree: light diffracts around the edges of photosite wells and through the edges of the microlens array when it is incident at angles deviating from orthogonal. It is an effect greater or lesser depending upon the particular match of a given lens with a specific digital sensor imaging system.
