I've been there. Back in the early 90s I was in Cooling a number of times, and visited the churchyard several times. My friend Chris Knight owned Cooling Castle in those days and used to let me do photo shoots there in the ruins. Chris was an avid amateur photographer. I don't recall the name after all this time, but just down the road from the castle was a somewhat rustic pub that made absolutely superb lunches. Unfortunately, Chris had a heart attack and died in late 93 and I haven't been back to the area since. A couple of my "signature" and best selling photos were taken at Cooling Castle in the summer of 93. The model was Miss Jamaica that year. http://www.bobshell.com/bss/CASTLE14A.jpg http://www.bobshell.com/bss/karenb7.JPG Your post and photos brought back some wonderful memories of Cooling. Hopefully I'll get back there one day. Bob -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
