On further clarification from the fellow who took the shot, it appears that Adobe did indeed compress the DNG file, not the camera. When my K10D arrives, my plan is to shoot DNG until Adobe updates the CS2 RAW converter to recognize the camera. Then I will switch to shooting compressed PEFs. Thanks, John, and others who replied.
