What version do you have?  I just noticed they recently came out with 
version 4, but I only have experience with versions 3 and 3.5.

If you have 3, have you installed the patch to update the software to the 
latest 3.5.x.x version?  That made it more stable for me.

One thing I found when I used PanoramaMaker at work (it was the only program 
I used for stitching, because it did such a good job, and I was on a 
dual-Xeon WinXP machine) was that it really needed to be run completely on 
its own, and preferrably after a reboot.  It's a memory hog, and if you try 
to do anything to it (or another program) while it's processing a job, it 
can easily crash.  I found it was worth the wait, however, as I almost 
always got fantastic results from it.  I can only imagine version 4 of 
PanoramaMaker is more stable, but I don't know that for certain.
