It certainly is but maybe not for the reason you think.  I'm not the most 
capable mathematician in the world but I don't see how they are arriving at 
their ranking.  There are cameras that have taken nearly three times the images 
that the DL has, yet they are not even in the top three.  There must be some 
manipulation going on with number of users, possibly to prevent skewing by one 
or two hyperactive users.  Can anyone work it out?

It is interesting to see how much more popular (making no allowances for the 
possibility that "Flikr" is seen as "lowbrow") the newer, cheaper DSLRs are.
