I'll jump in here, the 16-45/4 is the only zoom I own, it's better
than the FA24/2 at 24mm I'm sure but I have similar reservations to
Shel. When it comes to build there is no comparison with any decent
prime or older zoom. The last great zoom lens I owned was the
A35-105/3.5, scans from shots made using it on K25 and K64 are quite
amazing considering its age. Its build was superb though it was large
and heavy. The 16-45/4 feels light and cheap and the extended barrel
wobbles about more than any lens I think I've owned. I don't shoot
with it much but have elected to keep it for the mean time.
