I like both. But I suggest you to pump the contrast a bit, play a little
with Levels/Curves if you have. 
Especially with the rhododendron picture. There is a lot more information in
that file.

when i joined the PDML about a couple of months back, i didn't have any
pentax equipment though i was planning to get a k100d or a k10d. well,
eventually i went for a new *ist DS (with the DA 18-55).  i thought
it'll be better to start humble since it'd be my first (d)slr. i got
