As Amita mentioned, I met up with her, Nate and Ann at B&H. I got
there early and did some browsing by myself before the others arrived.

Had my DS with me so I got to fool with the two cameras side by side.

- It is bigger but not too big, close to the 20D in size.
- Heavier but not too much heavier.
- Similar in feel in most ways.
- Nicer, better quality feel to the switches and knobs on the K10D.

and on...

- Nicer balance than the Canon 20D ... feels smaller although by
measurements they're darn close.
- Like the new control set overall. Still am not too sure about the
front wheel ... it will take me a while to get comfortable with that
again.
- Fitted with either the DA14 or DA21, balance was very very nice. I
think they got the body balance so well done that it will feel great
with almost any lens, really.
- Viewfinder looks just a hair better than the DS viewfinder. Nice.

Look forward to having it to work with.

Asked about the battery grip but they didn't have one available for
demoing, they do have them in the shipping department. Not sure that
I will actually use it, I'll work with the camera a while once I have
it to figure that out.

I tried out the DA70 lens, compared it to the FA77. It's smaller,
lighter, and the focusing helicoid is much much faster. Worth selling
the FA77 for? jury is still out.

Now I guess I better drag the image files from my DS' card to the
computer and see what I did on annsan's roof. :-)
