Yes, I formatted the card in the camera. I was going to post an update because when I restarted my Mac, it now appears that only 4 of the original 29 .DNG files which I saved to the desktop are unreadable. All of the others are now OK for whatever reason. They were grayed out before and I couldn't preview them nor open them in PS or the Pentax browser.
