Interesting observation on CNN a few moments ago. The flights chosen to carry out this "mission" were all headed from the East coast to the West coast. Reason being that this would entail having a full load of fuel, all the better to create a "bomb". Being a former airline employee, I would venture to say that a Tuesday was chosen to ensure a lighter passenger load, therefore making it more apt to have more fuel than if the plane were full.
