Back in 1994 or so... I had my ME Super with me on the "Maid of the Mist" - a tour boat that goes upriver to be pretty near the bottom of Niagara Falls. I had the whole camera in a ziplog freezer bag with the lens (50mm F/ 1.7 "M") sticking out of the front (with a skylight filter on it). It was madness. There was so much water and wind that it was near impossible to photograph anything. And yet I tried. http://charles.robinsontwins.org/family/onboard_maid_of_mists.jpg It looks downright pleasant here (this is after the boat ride): http://charles.robinsontwins.org/family/ niagara_falls_hurricane_deck.jpg But it wasn't. Shortly after this photo a blast of water hit me in the face and tore my contact lens apart in my left eye. A day and a half later, still in pain, I managed to locate and extract the other half that had gotten jammed behind my eye out of sight! Up until that point, I thought I'd lost the whole lens and had just scratched my eye. -Charles -- Charles Robinson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Minneapolis, MN http://charles.robinsontwins.org -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
