At the beginning of my SW I allotted two day for fun and photography at
Yosemite.

This is not my best shot, I think, but the most encompassing one, i.e.,
showing the biggest area. Valley View, except I had to scoot down nearer the
river,
because they have allowed two bushes to grow as big as trees in front of the
designated Valley View.

I was going to print this for the show I entered, but the top was light and
the bottom dark, so I played with it and played with it: lighten shadows,
brightness, contrast, selected areas, etc. I got about four variations I sort
of
liked, but not quite.

Yosemite is metering/exposure challenge, at least at any time other than
sunrise and sunset, white rock, blue sky, heavily shadowed areas below.

Note that even when I had only done a little to this, like lightening shadows
a bit, it still looked unreal.

I gave up in frustration on all my versions and finally came up with this.
Printed big it looks pretty good. Could use more work here and there, but going
with it for now.

Here is a Yosemite postcard for you...

Hehehe, comments welcome.

Marnie aka Doe :-) Usually I like to comment on others' PESOs before dumping
another of mine out, but don't have time right now.
