Thanks John. I have Java enabled on both machines I'm using. I appreciate the help.
My worry is that if I and a handful of others can't see the Picasa web gallery, how can I be sure that the viewers I intend to present it to can see it? It seems to be a tool that is not very dependable in thisregard.
