Eric is right. I use rsync extensively for backing up everything. There's also a very nifty program called Unison (not the news group reader from Panic Software), and someone supplies a pre-compiled binary if you don't want to build it yourself or use Fink to build it, etc. http://www.cs.haifa.ac.il/%7Eshuly/unison/ Basically, Unison is similar to rsync in concept but has a GUI with easier conflict resolution as well as more easily created profiles.
