I can do that shooting RAW as long as my exposures are accurate and repeatable. jpeg leaves too much to chance. in fact, Rob wasn't talking about shooting jpeg. I have had situations where I set white balance. For example, when shooting cars where original paint color was important. But generally, I trust my judgement to arrive at a color temperature. I like to apply my aesthetic judgement to the photographs I make. I'm not trying to be a Xerox machine. I'm making pictures.That's the way I work.
