I'm aware of the optical DOF. As mentioned previously, I have both Histogram and Bright/Dark checked in Digital Preview setting. The Manual states that when the main switch is moved to DOF, the DOF icon will appear on the LCD monitor during preview. When the shutter release is pressed half way down, the Digital Preview will end and the image will not be saved. Seems very clear and direct, huh? Gives me something to do. You've given generously of your time already, Adam. I'll just keep fiddling.
