Hardening/non-hardening fixer differences. A non hardening fixer allow
for more thorough washing in a shorter time than a hardening fixer. The
other advantage is that the negative will dry flat with minimum curl.
Overall wet times should be reduced. When I process film, I select the
developer and dilution to keep the total development time to between 5 and 7
minutes with 1 minute agitation intervals.
I also use the rapid fixer instead hypo. It washes out quicker.
