When I was traveling every month to London, Madrid, Paris,  
Marseilles, Munich, Tokyo, Milan, Sydney, etc to attend consortium  
meetings, I would always schedule my trips to include at least an  
extra weekend for myself on each trip.

It's simple: "I only fly for business on business hours." Told my  
boss that outright ... and he agreed. Sometimes he even paid for my  
personal time.
