I had a Daisy. Great stuff. But I think it was hard for kids to tell
the difference between that and, say, a 22 calibre rifle. One of our
neighbors shot me and my friend in the back with a .22 when we were
riding down the alley behind our houses on the southside of Chicago.
Had to go to the hospital to get the bullet removed from somewhere
near my spine. My friend's father was a cop. He cruised down the
alley with his .38 and nailed the bastards. We eventually decided not
to press charges after we learned that they didn't know that the .22
was a bit more deadly than the Daisies we had all grown up with. Live
and learn.
