I totally agree with Godfrey. Every brand will have at least a few
failures.

The moral of this story is to carry more backup cards with you.

Also, I would also advise carrying them in anti-static containers, and
only take them out of the containers to insert them into a camera or
card reader. Never touch the contacts or the card. Never allow anything
to touch the contacts of the card, except a camera or a card reader.
Never lay the card down on anything that isn't an anti-static surface.
