Following the posts last week on my boxed unused *ist D, I decided to watch
a few eBay auctions and then put it up as a buy it now, when I got a feel
for the prices they achieved. I expected more positive prices this side of
Xmas but the selling prices left me disappointed.

I've therefore decided to keep it, prices after Xmas will surely be worse.
It's a matter of changing my view on how I think about digital cameras. I
suppose I am so used to buying a second hand film camera, using it for a few
years and selling it on at more or less the same price as I bought it, that
it stings. If I view it the same way as a computer, washing machine or
similar domestic appliance purchase, I accept from the outset that it's
expensive but will ultimately be an item for recycling. Once you accept
that's where digital cameras now fit in in the scheme of things, you can
settle back and accept it - and enjoy them. So that's what I plan to do and
I now have a new camera for Xmas. The K10D will have to sit on the shopping
list a little longer!

I hope you all have a peaceful Xmas.
