Beside the general and strong shortcomings of a mirror lens I do like the Tamron SP 500 and I made some good photos, even handheld and on the monopod with it. It's F8 is nearer to F11 and the same could be true for the Sigma. 500mm is an interesting tele range for certain effects, I like street and overview of the city shots with it. greetings Markus
