Don't you believe it.  Classic example; two local breweries were taken over by 
conglomerates.  Neither was unprofitable.  After five years or so, both were 
closed down and the sites sold for development.  The recipes were sold to other 
breweries.  (The only ray of hope)  One brewery was making about £60million/pa, 
the other (more a very large microbrewery) was about £6million.  Over 900 
people rendered unemployed.  The reason given?  Neither was making "enough" 
profit.

Pentax is wholly at the mercy of beancounters with this move.  Not that it has 
much choice, probably.
