I had it on the D,sitting on the dock, by the bay.<vbg> at the camp  
this past October, taking pictures of my buddies dog in the water.
Its a floating dock, and he got up to get something, which tilted the  
dock to my right. The rear leg of the plastic chair broke and i fell  
backwards, putting my hand out as instict would .

Unfortunatly the hand had a camera in it, and the lens took the hit,  
full force, on the dock and bend the inner barrel quite a bit.

I paid $125.00 for it, so i don;t want to pay $250 to fix it.

Could be a good parts lens of maybe someone might want to try and fix it.
