No seriously: Why would teh joined forces with HOYA mean stopping the camera production? Hoya is - like Pentax - an important player in the glass business. Joining management forces just means strengthining their role in the market place - as glass manufactureres and imaging developeres. I also guess that the camera industry has a role promoting all other glass products (like endoscopes and other medical equipment, spectacles, car-windows, CD/DVD readers etc.). I also believe the camera section might be profitable - or at least profitable enough to develop further.
