Every report I've seen said that Tokina lenses would not share SMC coatings
----- Since Pentax and Tokina manufacture separately, this is probably correct. Tokina's lenses sometimes have weakness in flare control. But for the 10-17, Tokina advertises a coating on the outside of the front element that sounds a lot like the anti-fingerprint coating that Pentax has recently developed.
