To be honest, without the back story it isn't much of a picture IMHO. I find the fact that his hands and the top of his head are cut off distracting. Get closer (or a longer lens perhaps), to focus on his face (and it's a face with character in spades :-), or step back to get more of the environment or maybe a portrait orientated shot would work better? I dunno.
