Sadly that's the way it use to be. Notice the number of immigrants arriving 
in the U S of A that want to change  the official language, continue 
traditions from their homeland, dress in their homeland garb etc.

Wasn't that way previously. Immigrants came to the U S of S & quickly became 
Americanized.

Oh, no. You don't understand what a powerful symbol the American flag is to
Americans.
Americans are probably the most patriotic people in the world, and that flag
represents everything that they feel their country is.


This struck another key in me. Could it also be because US basically is a
multiethnic society? I wonder if we have a less diverged culture in Norway.
