Finally got the chance to take a look at the photo. I like the idea ... there's a house with a garage door in the american flag motif locally that I have been thinking to photograph for what I think are similar semi-unconscious motivations ... but somehow the composition you chose leaves me a little cold. For me, these kinds of things are all about context and that fence has too little surrounding context to present the appropriate contrast of aesthetic/ ideology/whatever to make it stand out in its signal glory. Whatever the goofy impetus that causes some people to paint their fence or garage with such an ostentatious flag motif, well, it's their property and they can express whatever they want with it.
