Thats not really saying much, because the build "quality"
of most of the "A" series lenses are dubious at best.
Most of them have mechanically very unrefined, certainly
there must have be mfg. cost reduction measures taken by
Pentax compared to the K and M lenses that caused this....

The build quality of the FA35/2 AL is excellent. Compared to the A  
series 35/2.8 I had, which was quite nice, the only real difference  
in mechanical feel is that the FA35 has less stiction in the focusing  
ring.

I never did find a 35/2 manual focus lens, but from everything I've  
seen and heard, the FA35/2 is the best performer in this focal length  
that Pentax has produced. It is good enough that I find the FA31  
Limited ridiculously overpriced for the amount of advantage it provides.
