As I said, I was joking (had no idea it would spark this debate. In Canada, handguns are so heavily restricted as to be virtually illegal. Yes, long guns are guns, but they don't become involved in inner city murders (which is where most of the gun deaths occur in Canada). It's hard to walk the streets inconspicuously with a rifle or shotgun in hand.
