If you really want to go cheap (and by all accounts really good), take a
look at Paul Roark's solution for a truly low-cost A4 solution:  The Epson
C88 and MIS EZ inkset.

A C88 will set you back less than $100, and the MIZ EZ cartridges cost
around $11 each.  You don't get A3 size, but the price can't be beat.
