If I remember correctly, the SP 200-400 was considered to be a poor lens.
You can find them easily on 2ndhand markets. Nowadays, the label "SP" does
not mean much. I looked up the latest Tamron lens brochure and the new
200-400 does not carry the SP label (they must realise they stamped the "SP"
on their lenses too easily in the past few years).
