Well you guys came up with some great captions for this shot - very witty - I think my favourites are Paul's lost trousers, Bob W's lost Englishmen, and Stan's aperture simulator sighting! I can now reveal the real answer - Ken was on the right track - this is New Zealand's famous hotwater beach where at low tide you can dig a hole in the sand and hot springs bubble up. Now it's in all the guides books and as you can see it's now hard to stake a claim - it's like the old gold rush days!
