Hi Francis
I was quite surprised that the test animal portrait photos I took at 300mm
with the Sigma AF 70-300mm zoom where quite good regarding sharpness.
And nobody seems to like cheap Sigma zooms :-) I got that zoom in a bundle
with an AF 400FTZ and a body and will probably sell it later when the Pentax
lens dryness on auctions here continues. It looks like people buy everything
with a K mount at the moment.
On the other side the AF400FTZ seems to overexpose up to 2 stops with ISO
400 Kodak UC film in bright daylight on
TTL on my SFXn film camera and a distance of about 2 meters with a middle
grey! haired dog. At 5 meters everything looks fine again.

This list seems to prefer fast premium quality lenses despite the
shortcomings :-)

greetings
Markus

Wow. I'd seen quite a few put-downs of the 18-55, so I was
very pleasantly surprised when I actually got one. It might
not feel as solid as my FA* lenses, but I've no complaints.
