Kenneth, You might be thinking of the "Old Mill" swimming area on Paramus Road (near the George Washington Cemetery). The 'hole' is still there, but they haven't been open for as long as I can remember (10/15/20 years?). It's prime real estate just sitting idle in one of the most expensive area's in the state, if not the country.
