yes please, that would be very useful as I said I have nothing to 
compare my shots with. You can use this address but please keep the 
attachment size within reasonable limits.

But this is not just about sharpness - while images produced by fixed 
50s are "refined" (smooth and sharp at the same time), images from zoom 
are "rough" - yes, they may be "apparently" sharp, but IMHO this is not 
real sharpness (just higher contrast). Also about all possible 
aberrations are present - from color fringing through geometric 
distortions to softening towards the edges. As you said, I may have a 
bad sample but even if my sample is fine it's probably unfair to compare 
such basic zoom with specimens of some of the best glass available 
regardless of price. "Too bad" I've started with the latter...

BTW I've tried to develop these pictures using ACR in PSCS2 and with 
contrast set to the minimum they now look much better to me. Nobel Prize 
to the inventors of the RAW image processing! :-)
