A couple bits of good news came this week. On Thursday I got word from one of stock agents that he had sold one of my snow crystals shots to the Sierra Club, for use in a future holiday greeting card. I knew he was working on it but it was great to see the deal close, and obviously it's an honor to have them buy one of my shots. Over the last year another major US snow crystal photographer has pretty much eaten my lunch at every turn, so I was happy to emerge with one success.
And (non-Pentax context) yesterday I got word that one of my Holga shots was accepted into the upcoming Krappy Kamera Contest, hosted by Soho Photo Gallery in NYC. That's a pretty competitive show, so I'm glad ot have gotten in. Common theme - both shots are macros. The snow crystal was taken with the extreme close up rig with the *ist-D. The Holga shot was taken with 3 single element closeup filters strapped to the front of the Holga lens, and a lot of guess work as to where to put the camera (since it's not an SLR system.) - MCC -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mark Cassino Photography Kalamazoo, Michigan www.markcassino.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
