Hey, Dave, welcome to club. Cotty's particularly enamoured with gmail, I think. Anyway, the filters are pretty easy to use. If you haven't set any up yet, just click the "create a filter" link up toward the top, fill in the offending lister's email addy in the "from" field, click next, and then put a little checkmark next to "delete it." And you're done.
I really used to despise webmail. Pine was my weapon of choice for a very long time. Gmail gets the interface right, though, and I have no desire to go back to a local mail client.
