I've been pretty much away -
My friend Nora died on January 11th at 89 -
We had been friends for over 40 years.
NOt unexpected, but sad for the survivors, nonetheless.

She was sent off in royal style, in a very touching fashion.
Her kids asked me to take photos of the proceedings, the
party celebrating her, the burial and the interior of the house
before things were taken down and stored or sold or passed on
to children, grand children and great grand children... not that I
had not already taken many pictures there - there were specific
things that were especially treasured they wanted to remember as
she had arranged them.

She would have preferred scattered ashes to burial, but these things
are for those left behind and she tacitly consented.

As it happens, the cemetery is the very one which Nora took me to
in 1978 to point out the "No Permanent Planting" sign that is in my book.
Alas, it has been replaced with "No dogs allowed in Cemetery".

Aha, I misunderstood re previous comments about Nora.

Nice one, ann. Though I would have preferred that more of the dinosaur on
the mantle showed.

Catching the cat there was fortuitous and it was makes it, naturally.
