My academic version of Photoshop is identical to the standard version.

And they rely on those of us who teach this stuff at universities to 
use their software and thus insure that the students are "initiated" 
into the Adobe world/mindset at an early age. Like something out of one 
of the early Star Trek episodes ;-)
