If I were taking both film and digital SLRs along, the film camera would be a medium format camera. I don't think the 35mm film images would not be up to snuff against the DSLR images, and I know for me that it would take me forever to render them into prints. All my B&W work is rendered from the DSLRs these days.
I continue to be drawn to the Pentax 645 kit, I love the camera. But the reality is that I still haven't finished shooting the fifth roll of film I started in December and haven't even finished scanning a full roll out of the four I shot. Meanwhile, I've completed work on four sets of photos taken after January 1st, taken with the K10D, and am looking for places to exhibit them... That speaks volumes for me.
