I once to felt the same way. Until I got my FA* 80-200mm f2.8. I tried Rob's FA 200 f2.8 when he was here, and IMO the quality of the images from the 80-200 are so close to those from the FA 200 f2.8, that I cancelled my order once I got the 80-200 (in hindsight I should have got the 200, because the 80-200 is a heavy bugger & I use it mostly at the 200mm FL).
Although I still prefer primes. All my other FA & DA zooms still leave me feeling a bit cold.
