Well, I'd say either you don't hear about many people or I over-exaggerated a little too much. ;) And really, I was online anyway, why not hit the refresh button a few times an hour? :) I admit I obsess too much about material things.
Truth be told, I didn't check the battery before I put it on the charger. Still trying to make my way through the manual and stuff, but I've taken a handful of snapshots and the camera feels really tight. For what it's worth, I got the kit lens (replaces the J 18-35 I sold with the *ist D), grip, and a spare battery. I've already dug my remote out and put it in the grip.
