No, I wouldn't say there are high levels of mosquito activity, since there are hardly any trees here and it's often too windy. You can expect quite a number of mosquitos the few days that aren't windy, especially in wetlands. I don't think we have the same mosquitos as are common in e.g. the US or Canada. I seem to remember that our type isn't as bad as in many other placees, but on the other hand I'm no expert.
