I have a Pentax 645 kit on loan. I asked the same question of the owner when I got it. He told me that he'd never used anything but AA alkalines because even they last so long it's just not an issue. I fitted a set of them on his recommendation and have not had to change them yet, that was in late October.
I suspect that NiCAD or NiMH batteries will likely require more maintenance than just getting a set of AA alkalines as they don't hold a charge sitting on the shelf as long. BTW, I love the camera. I just doubt that I'll ever actually use it enough. Sigh. G On Feb 1, 2007, at 4:07 PM, Angel Ramos wrote: > I have gotten a well "preserved" Pentax 645 and this unit uses 6 AA > batteries.
