If you still wanna use your PEF: Open your PEFs with Pentax browser, select'em all and convert them to DNGs. Open them with Lightroom or, recompress'em with Adobe DNG converter before opening them in Lightroom.
Those are extra steps but allow you to shoot in PEFs: they use less space on your SD card.
