Rob Galbraith has just posted an excellent head-to-head comparison of the
Nikon D1X / D1H, and the Kodak DCS 760x used at high ISOs. He concludes that
the cameras are equally competent to ISO 1600 but that the Kodak is better
at ISO 3200. He includes a number of identical examples taken with both
cameras that you can download and print for yourself (incidentally, full
image files downloaded off the web are no different in quality than if you
owned the camera yourself and downloaded directly from the camera. This
rather revolutionizes comparison tests, at least as far as image quality is
concerned).
