Something like: this one doesn't look very interesting in color, let's try B&W - start with the red filter to darken the sky - still lacks contrast so add some vigneting - even more vigneting - oops, too contrasty = blown up highlights - too lazy to start from the scratch so add some grain to mask it instead... ;-) > I also prefer the B&W, but on my (calibrated) monitor > the shadows are blocked up.. Rick, the display on my notebook is not well suited for this task. Well, I can distinguish whole gray scale but I have to look at the screen from precisely defined angle.
