I haven't noticed anything of the kind.

What I have noticed, though, is that a 150x card moves data noticeably
faster than a 50x card (about three times the speed, with a good reader).

So if your SD cards are newer than your CF cards, they're probably faster.

A *ist D can only benefit from around a 40x card, so there's not a lot of
point in using anything faster than that.  But if you happen to have one
of the SanDisk Extreme IV CF cards (and the appropriate CF card reader)
you'll find it can transfer data at around 40MB/second, which is roughly
twice as fast as the best you can get from an SD card today.

That kind of cutting-edge performance comes at a pretty steep price, though.
